OX ROBERTS
Senior Pastor
Ox became our Senior Pastor in August 2024, after having been a part of the DBC family since mid-2019.
The previous 15 years, Ox worked in para-church ministry with Scripture Union, Nungalinya College and the Baptist Union of NSW.
He is married to Kaz, and they have 2 adult daughters who also live in the NT.
He has a passion to see the good news of Jesus proclaimed right across the NT and beyond, a heart for mission and training/discipling/mentoring the next generation of believers.
In his downtime, Ox likes spending time fishing, watching sports, or fixing up things around the house
VANDANA THAVARE
Associate Pastor
Vandana started as an Associate Pastor at Darwin Baptist Church in July 2025 after sensing God’s leading to serve here.
For the past fifteen years, Vandana primarily worked as a Physiotherapist while also serving at various churches as she has lived and worked in both urban and rural settings of WA (Perth, Derby, Narembeen, and Merredin) and the NT (Alice Springs).
God called her to the task of preaching and teaching His word in early 2022 as Vandana was completing her Graduate Diploma in Divinity. Vandana served as an associate Pastor at a church in Perth for some time before deciding to study further. Vandana will complete her Masters in Theological Studies at the end of this year.
Vandana is passionate about helping people grow in their intimacy with God and live out the gifts they have received from God.
Vandana loves connecting with people over meals and walks. She enjoys bushwalks, making cards, reading, writing and playing some good volleyball although her skills are getting a little rusty.
STEVEN MILES
Youth & Young Adults Associate Pastor
Steven serves as the Youth and Young Adult Associate Pastor at Darwin Baptist Church, overseeing ministry for those aged 12-30.
Before joining DBC on staff, his family spent three years doing mission work in Mozambique.
He is currently completing his Master of Divinity through Tabor College and has been involved in youth leadership for over 15 years.
Steven is passionate about helping young people encounter God's love and grow in their faith.
He is married with three children, and enjoys playing sports, board games and eating good food with family and friends.
JO WATSON
Kids & Families
Associate Pastor
Jo became the Children’s worker at Darwin Baptist Church at the beginning of 2017, and coordinates the Kids Ministry programs at DBC.
Jo also has a passion for seeing families thrive, assisting parents in discipling their children to know Jesus in a personal way.
Jo is married to Neal, and they have 2 children. They have been part of DBC for over 20 years, after moving to the NT from Gladstone in Queensland.
