MINISTRY STRATEGY
The ministry strategy of Darwin Baptist Church is to:

• Win people to Christ
• Build them in faith
• Train them for ministry; and
• Release and send them out to strengthen and enrich individual, family and community life

VISION
The vision of DBC is to be a healthy, growing, local and regional church:
With a priority of prayer, worship, biblical teaching and small group fellowship, identifying community needs and meeting them through creative and contemporary ministries that communicate Christ's love.

STAFF

	Mal Sercombe - Senior Pastor. Mal has been the senior pastor of Darwin Baptist Church since 2002. As senior pastor, Mal is responsible for all areas of church ministry and life, vision and leadership with a particular focus on preaching and teaching. Mal is married to Ellen and they have 3 married children and 3 grand-children.
	Toni Rehrmann - Associate Pastor. Toni has been associate pastor of Darwin Baptist Church since 2007. Toni's primary area of responsibility is Children's & Youth Ministry, as well as Women's Ministry. Toni is married to Richard and they have 4 children.
	Warren Douglas – Associate Pastor. Warren and family left the NSW Central Coast in Feb 2012 to commence a new role as an Associate Pastor at DBC. In his ministry at DBC, Warren is primarily responsible for the discipleship of Connect Groups and Young Adult ministry leaders. Warren is married to Liz and they have 2 adult children and 2 kids at home. Warren is passionate about following Jesus, loving family and friends, encouraging transformation in the lives of disciples (especially youth and young adults) and participating in sport.
	Dot Meakins - Administrator.  Dot took on the role of Administrator in 2010. Dot's profile is to support the Pastors and other ministries of the church with their day to day arrangements, handle book-keeping and accounts, church bookings and any special events. Dot is married to Greg and has 3 adult daughters.

Elders
We have a team of elders, who together with the Senior Pastor & Associate Pastor are responsible for the spiritual oversight of the Church and it's related ministries.

Disabled Access

To ensure the church is fully accessable to all, Darwin Baptist Church has ramps to all areas, acrod parking close to the building, and toilet facilities for those in wheelchairs.

We have a huge variety of opportunities where you can give a hand to serve others, or participate in activities and functions we hold.

Baptist Care NT

Care Team

Church service set-up
Required before each service. All helpers welcomed - come along 1/2 hour before the service begins.

Cleaning Team

Creche

Connect Group Leaders & Hosts

Educating Teens

Integration & Welcoming Team

Intern

IT Support

Kids Church
Providing an opportunity for our children to grow up in the love and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. For kids from Pre-school to Grade 6. Held every Sunday, during school term, during the first morning service. New teachers always welcome.

Lawn Mowing Team

Library
Christian books, videos, cassettes & DVDs for adults and children are available for lending. Enquiries to join our duty roster are welcome.

Sound & Projection Team

DBC Kids

Kids Church: Sunday

Vision
At Darwin Baptist Church we believe that children are precious and unique people.  They have such an important role to play within our Church community.  The vision of DBC Kid's Church is:  To develop a vibrant ministry in which children come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and become equipped in using their God-given gifts to reach out and care for others. 
To build up children in a Christian faith that is R - E - A - L, relevant and independent through:

Relationship with God, teachers, parents and others within the Church community
Engaging environment that is safe, caring and fun
Active learning - having kids actively involved &
Loving God and each other through sharing and serving

To engage and work together with parents and kids in reaching out to unchurched families - providing a point of connection for them with the DBC community.

DBC Creche
On Sunday mornings rostered supervision for the 9am service is offered concurrent with the sermon. Creche provides opportunity for

• Children to enjoy safe and happy play
• Parents to listen to sermon
• Parents on rostered supervision to enjoy fellowship

Child Protection
At Darwin Baptist Church we value the safety of each child.  Therefore, our leaders are trained through CACET - Child Abuse Consultancy Education and Training.  CACET's primary goal is to protect children from all forms of abuse and sexual exploitation. 

In accordance with NT Government regulations each leader working with children is an Ochre Card holder.
